Dr. Samia Hassouneh

Dr. Samia Hassouneh, DMD

Dr. Samia was born in Olympia, Washington, and raised in the beautiful city of Seattle. She spent her childhood living in the University District, just two blocks from the University of Washington. Later, she followed her family to Portland, Oregon, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Micro and Molecular Biology with a minor in Spanish from Portland State University. Her passion for helping others and her interest in medical and dental procedures led her to attend Oregon Health & Science University School of Dentistry, where she graduated with honors and earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree.

From a young age, Dr. Samia was involved in childcare—first by babysitting her many nieces and nephews, and later by raising six children of her own. These experiences gave her a deep understanding of the challenges parents face when it comes to their children’s dental care. After five years in general dentistry, she discovered that her greatest fulfillment came from working with children. She strongly believes that every child deserves a positive dental experience.

Drawn to Acorn Dentistry for Kids’ mission of serving all children, Dr. Samia felt it was the perfect place to focus her career on pediatric dentistry. She delights in helping kids feel comfortable—whether it’s by sharing a laugh, tossing a squishy ball, or doing a silly dance. She also loves learning new languages and encourages her patients to teach her words from their native tongue. Above all, she wants families to know that Acorn is here to guide, not judge.

In her free time, Dr. Samia enjoys dancing, hiking, camping, and spending time outdoors. On rainy days, you’ll find her curled up by the fireplace with a cup of tea and a good book or movie. She also loves Zumba classes and hanging out with her golden retriever, Solo.
