Dr. Jennison Smith

Jennison (Jenner) Smith is a board-eligible pediatric dentist who is passionate about delivering kind, thoughtful, and individualized care to every child he meets. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Brigham Young University, followed by his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. He completed his pediatric dental residency at Cohen Children’s Medical Center/Long Island Jewish Medical Center, part of Northwell Health in New York.

During his residency, he received extensive training in both clinical and hospital settings, including specialized care for children with complex medical conditions, special health care needs, and dental anxiety. He is also highly skilled in providing care under general anesthesia and sedation, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience for children who need extra support.

Jennison was drawn to Acorn for its welcoming, inclusive atmosphere and strong focus on patient-centered care. He was immediately impressed by the team’s dedication to creating a calm, sensory-aware, and empowering experience for every child. Joining Acorn felt like a natural extension of his own mission—to make dental visits positive, supportive, and confidence-building.

For him, pediatric dentistry is about much more than oral health—it’s about building trust and helping kids feel strong, safe, and heard. He loves the honesty, energy, and imagination that children bring into the office. He has a special interest in supporting patients with anxiety and sensory sensitivities, and finds nothing more rewarding than seeing a fearful child leave smiling and excited to return.

When he’s not in the office, Jennison enjoys spending time outdoors—whether it’s hiking, hitting the beach, or playing basketball. He’s a fan of live music, loves exploring new food spots, and takes every chance he gets to travel. He shares his home with his wife, Taylor, and their two very vocal cats, Petunia and Gus, who always keep things lively!
